WayaDesk / Operations and recovery
An update affects both program behaviour and the operator’s recovery options. Read the release scope, preserve a working backup and identify how to verify the new version before applying it to a live customer base.
Know what is changing
Separate a software upgrade from changes to packages, merchant configuration or router policy. Applying unrelated changes together makes it difficult to identify the cause of a failure. Keep the installed version and accepted configuration in the operating record.
Use trusted release material
LinkDesk includes signed update tooling and documented rollback restrictions. Use the supplied process and trusted vendor inputs rather than replacing program files with an unidentified copy. A newer database may not be safe to open with older application code.
- Confirm the backup can be inspected and restored.
- Read any data-version or rollback limitation before updating.
- Run representative payment, entitlement and access checks afterwards.
Protect the service boundary
Plan who will monitor unfinished work during the update and when normal operations resume. Review transactions that occur after the backup snapshot if recovery becomes necessary. Restoring files without reconciling later business activity can create inconsistent entitlement.
Agree the commercial scope
A perpetual licence covers the purchased version under its terms. It is not an automatic promise that every future release or assisted upgrade is free. Confirm which updates and support tasks are included so a maintenance decision does not become a pricing dispute.
Frequently asked questions
Can I always revert by copying the old program folder back?
No. Follow documented data-version and restore restrictions before using older code.
Are all future upgrades included in a perpetual licence?
Only if the purchase terms say so. Confirm update and assisted-upgrade scope separately.
Choose your software licence
One installation, a clear router allowance, and perpetual use of the purchased version. Setup assistance, hosting and external services are separate.
