WayaDesk / Customer service and SMS
An expiry reminder can reduce surprise, but it must agree with the account’s actual paid-through date. A message based on an outdated period can confuse a customer who already renewed or selected a future package.
Use the entitlement record
Check the relevant subscriber period and the intended reminder event. Early renewals can extend the overall deadline, while a future package has its own boundary. Staff should use the account record rather than calculating an expiry from the latest conversation.
Understand the timing dependencies
LinkDesk’s scheduled notices depend on the worker being online and the configured provider being available. The feature should not be advertised as guaranteed delivery at an exact minute. A planned reminder and an observed handset message are different stages.
- Test a reminder for a controlled short service period.
- Check the effect of an early renewal on the account information.
- Verify preference handling and provider reporting.
Give customers another way to check
Keep expiry information accessible through the private account page. Customers who opt out of SMS or fail to receive a message still need to understand their service dates. The reminder supports the account record; it does not replace it.
Review interruptions carefully
After a host outage, inspect which notification attempts are recorded before deliberately sending replacements. Avoid creating a burst of confusing duplicate reminders. Record any manual resend so later support can explain what the customer received and why.
Frequently asked questions
Can reminders be guaranteed at an exact time?
No. Delivery depends on worker availability, the provider and the handset path.
Does a reminder determine the actual expiry?
No. The paid entitlement determines service timing; the message communicates that information.
