WayaDesk / Customer service and SMS
“Sent” can conceal several different stages. The application may have attempted a request, the provider may have accepted it and a delivery report may later describe the handset outcome. Use precise labels so staff know what has actually been observed.
Trace one notification
Find the event, provider message identifier and any returned delivery information. Match the report to the correct attempt. An unrelated or repeated callback should not be treated as a new customer notification or as proof of a payment.
Keep limits and charges distinct
LinkDesk’s daily cap counts send attempts, not message segments or shillings. A long message can have a different provider cost from a short one. Compare provider billing with the application’s attempt records rather than assuming the counts will be identical.
- Confirm the customer’s messaging preference.
- Distinguish request acceptance from delivered status.
- Review ambiguous attempts before creating another send.
Investigate patterns
If many notifications fail, check the provider account, approved sender configuration and the service path. If one recipient fails repeatedly, inspect that case without changing every customer’s billing record. Messaging problems should not automatically alter internet entitlement.
Set a useful customer expectation
Tell customers where they can inspect their account if a notice does not arrive. A private portal and a clear support channel prevent SMS delivery from becoming the only way to know whether payment or renewal succeeded.
Frequently asked questions
Does provider acceptance guarantee handset delivery?
No. Treat acceptance and reported delivery as different stages.
Is a daily attempt cap a fixed SMS spending limit?
No. Segments and provider pricing can make cost differ from the number of attempts.
