WayaDesk / M-Pesa payments
A renewal purchases a service period for an existing account. Correct payment verification matters, but so does the date from which that period starts. Early renewal and renewal after expiry can produce different service boundaries.
Inspect the existing entitlement
Before applying a renewal, determine whether the subscriber still has paid time. LinkDesk supports persistent subscriber workflows with fixed-minute or calendar-month plans. Early renewal can extend the overall deadline while a purchased future package waits until the current entitlement ends.
Keep paid time separate from a new price choice
A customer selecting another package is not automatically buying it. The application has a next-plan workflow, and an existing unpaid invoice must be resolved before changing the next purchase. Staff should not rewrite an already paid period to match today’s catalogue price.
- Confirm the subscriber and current expiry before renewal.
- Show the package and service period attached to the new payment.
- Check the boundary at which a future package’s settings should apply.
Example of an early renewal
A household pays before its current period ends. The question is not simply whether the account says paid; it is whether the remaining entitlement was preserved and the next period begins correctly. Observe the planned speed or package change at the agreed boundary.
Explain dates in local terms
Use a clear date, time and timezone when discussing expiry. A phrase such as “one month from now” may conceal an important anniversary rule. Test month-end behaviour and late renewals on the intended installation before relying on them for customer promises.
Frequently asked questions
Does early renewal replace remaining paid time?
It should follow the configured renewal policy. LinkDesk’s persistent workflow preserves existing entitlement when scheduling the next paid period.
Does selecting another plan count as payment?
No. Plan selection and purchase confirmation are separate steps.
