A paid WiFi captive portal is the customer-facing entrance to your Hotspot service. WayaDesk supplies LinkDesk workflows for packages, payments and access, while your configured MikroTik gateway provides the network enforcement. Plan those pieces together before advertising automated WiFi sales.
Make the offer understandable
The customer should see the package price, duration and relevant limits before paying. Explain whether a pass begins on purchase or on the intended activation event, and test the actual implementation. Avoid promises about unlimited devices, data quotas or speeds that the chosen access path does not enforce.
Keep checkout reachable before login
A captive portal is useful only if an unauthenticated customer can open the package and payment journey. Check DNS, HTTPS and the required reachability rules on the intended network. Test from a real phone connected through the guest access path. Opening the same page from an administrator laptop on a different connection is not an adequate portal test.
Verify payment and access separately
An STK request starting successfully does not establish that payment completed. The payment workflow must verify the provider outcome and match it to the intended order. Then inspect whether the supported gateway access action succeeded. Show a clear pending state instead of inviting duplicate purchases when the result is uncertain.
Pilot the complete customer journey
Test a new device, package selection, a cancelled payment, a successful payment, access and expiry. Confirm what the user sees if the gateway or payment service is temporarily unavailable. Brand the customer experience within the supported deployment and keep the administration workspace private. The website licence checkout is separate from the captive portal you deploy.
Questions before buying
Is WayaDesk checkout itself my hotspot login page?
No. It sells the software licence. Your subscriber checkout is configured in your LinkDesk deployment.
Will any access point enforce the purchased pass?
Access enforcement depends on the supported gateway and topology. Access points alone do not establish billing compatibility.
Software price and delivery
Current one-off licences are KSh 4,900 for 2 managed routers, KSh 9,900 for 5 and KSh 17,900 for 10, on one installation. The amount displayed at M-Pesa checkout applies to your purchase. Verified payment reveals the product key and prepared installer on your private order page. Hardware, hosting, messaging and separately quoted assistance are external costs.
Choose your software licence
One installation, a clear router allowance, and perpetual use of the purchased version. Setup assistance, hosting and external services are separate.
