Separate guest access from institutional systems

Document which users need the internet and which internal resources must remain private. A payment package should not imply access to staff administration, student records or classroom management systems. Billing entitlement alone is not a network segmentation policy; the gateway, VLAN and firewall design must implement the intended separation.

Define passes for the actual timetable

Explain the duration, price and supported device or data limits. A visitor pass for a short course differs from a persistent monthly staff or tenant account. Match that use to Hotspot vouchers or subscriber workflows. Demonstrate expiry outside office hours instead of relying on manual end-of-day checks.

Assign practical staff responsibilities

Identify who creates packages, records a payment, investigates a connection problem and restores a backup. Give each person only the relevant role. Keep private customer links and credentials out of shared noticeboards. Use the minimum customer information needed for the operational account and restrict access appropriately.

Test before term or event traffic

Pilot through the actual access points with representative devices. Check package reachability before login, a failed payment, a confirmed payment and expiry. Measure coverage and host capacity separately. The software licence includes neither internet service nor a promise that the institution’s full wireless network is ready.

Content filtering is not promised by this billing licence. It needs its own network and policy solution.

Can passes be distributed as vouchers?

LinkDesk supports local Hotspot voucher workflows on compatible deployments; test the intended issue and access process.

Software price and delivery

Current one-off licences are KSh 4,900 for 2 managed routers, KSh 9,900 for 5 and KSh 17,900 for 10, on one installation. The amount displayed at M-Pesa checkout applies to your purchase. Verified payment reveals the product key and prepared installer on your private order page. Hardware, hosting, messaging and separately quoted assistance are external costs.
