WayaDesk / Customer service and SMS
A payment message should help the subscriber recognise a verified purchase. It should not be used as the evidence that makes the purchase valid. The underlying payment record and its verification remain the source for granting paid entitlement.
Send information that answers a question
Use the relevant account or purchase context and a clear description of the confirmed result. Avoid including unnecessary private data or network credentials. A notification should help the customer understand the transaction without turning the message into an account-access secret.
Keep delivery separate from payment status
LinkDesk’s SMS delivery callbacks report provider delivery information. They do not verify payments or activate access. If a message fails to arrive, inspect the payment and entitlement directly rather than repeating the charge.
- Verify the underlying transaction before describing it as paid.
- Check customer preference and the configured SMS path.
- Keep provider acceptance distinct from handset delivery.
Consider the payer and subscriber
Another person may pay for the subscriber’s service. Review which recipient the notification workflow uses and test it with the intended account arrangement. Do not assume that every payer phone number is automatically the private account owner.
Measure the pilot outcome
Confirm the recorded payment, service period and notification attempt as separate observations. That makes a missing SMS a messaging investigation instead of an unnecessary billing correction. Keep the customer portal available as another way to review the payment record.
Frequently asked questions
Can an SMS delivery callback prove an M-Pesa payment?
No. The messaging callback and payment verification are separate systems.
Should I ask for another payment if the SMS is missing?
No. Inspect the existing transaction and entitlement before taking any payment action.
Choose your software licence
