WayaDesk / PPPoE and renewals
Customers who renew before expiry usually want continuity. The billing workflow must make clear how the new period relates to time that is already paid for. An early purchase should not be confused with starting an entirely new account.
Read the current period first
Inspect the paid-through date and current package before reviewing the new invoice. LinkDesk’s persistent subscriber workflow can schedule paid future periods after existing entitlement. The overall deadline may extend while the current period’s settings remain in place.
Check package changes separately
If the customer buys a different next package, the future price and speed should not automatically overwrite the active paid period. Observe when the transition occurs and communicate that date. A customer who expects a higher speed immediately may need a different commercial arrangement than the scheduled workflow provides.
- Show the current and future periods in the pilot review.
- Confirm the payment attaches to the intended subscriber.
- Test the boundary where the next package should become active.
Watch for duplicate renewals
Two payment attempts and two completed purchases are not the same thing. Resolve any ambiguous attempt before granting additional time manually. The correct outcome is based on verified purchases, not the number of prompts the customer recalls seeing.
Explain the result in one message
After the renewal is confirmed, tell the customer the resulting paid-through date and any future package transition. That is more useful than a generic “renewed successfully” message when the customer is trying to understand how their remaining time was handled.
Frequently asked questions
Will a future package necessarily start immediately?
No. In the documented scheduled workflow, it starts after the existing paid entitlement ends.
What should staff show after an early renewal?
The verified purchase, the resulting expiry and the start date of any future package change.
