WayaDesk / PPPoE and renewals
An expired entitlement, an operator suspension and a failed login are not interchangeable states. Each should have its own explanation so staff do not undo a deliberate decision while trying to repair a technical problem.
Establish why access is unavailable
Check the account’s paid period, suspension state and authentication result. If the service period has ended, inspect the next purchase path. If the owner has intentionally suspended the account, a routine connection retry should not silently override that decision.
Keep renewal and debt policy separate
Decide what the business sells after a lapsed period and document any outstanding commercial issue. Do not assume that the application implements a particular credit, grace-period or debt-collection policy unless it is explicitly configured and demonstrated. The current product descriptions should not imply unsupported grace-period features.
- Confirm the service boundary before describing an account as overdue.
- Distinguish an unpaid period from an intentional suspension.
- Record any authorised goodwill adjustment separately from a payment.
Handle the customer’s return consistently
When a customer pays after expiry, inspect the newly purchased period rather than assuming the old anniversary continues unchanged. The documented calendar-month path starts a new anniversary from payment time for an expired account.
Review communication
Messages should say what the customer can do next without overstating the cause. If payment is still being verified, say so. If a router or provider outage is responsible, do not label the customer unpaid merely because authentication is currently failing.
Frequently asked questions
Can recovery remove an intentional suspension?
LinkDesk’s documented recovery path does not lift a suspension; owner action and policy remain separate.
Does the software automatically provide a grace period?
Do not assume an undocumented credit or grace policy. Agree and test the exact service rules you require.
