WayaDesk / Buyer decisions and pilot
Billing decides who is entitled to use a service. Radio equipment and network design determine whether the customer’s device can reach that service reliably. Keeping those roles separate prevents unrealistic expectations during a hotspot project.
Test the customer device
A phone must communicate with the installed access network, not merely detect a signal name. Walls, placement, interference and the device itself affect the result. Do not promise an open-area radius from the billing software or infer coverage from the licence tier.
Map the intended service area
Ask the installer to identify where paying customers will actually stand or sit. Test representative locations and device types. A successful connection beside the router does not establish coverage at the far end of a property.
- Record weak or unreliable locations before launch.
- Check the network during representative activity, not only an empty-site demonstration.
- Distinguish radio faults from authentication or payment faults.
Budget for physical infrastructure
Access points, cabling, power and mounting work are separate from the software purchase. The appropriate design depends on the site. A one-off licence does not remove those costs or turn an indoor router into a long-range outdoor deployment.
Make service claims from measurements
Use the tested area and observed experience to describe the offer. If the target is a large outdoor area served directly to phones, commission a site-specific design and acceptance test. Avoid selling access based on an unverified distance promise.
Frequently asked questions
Can LinkDesk make a phone connect from one kilometre away?
The software does not create radio coverage. That outcome depends on a separately designed and tested physical network.
Does seeing the Wi-Fi name prove usable internet?
No. Test authentication and actual service from the intended customer location.
Choose your software licence
One installation, a clear router allowance, and perpetual use of the purchased version. Setup assistance, hosting and external services are separate.
