WayaDesk / Installation and migration
A rollback plan explains how the operator will restore the prior working arrangement if a migration fails its acceptance checks. It should be written before the cutover, while the original records and configuration are still easy to preserve.
Define a decision point
Agree which failures will stop the migration: incorrect entitlement, failed authentication, missing payment traceability or another required outcome. Name the person authorised to make the decision. An indefinite partial migration can be harder to support than either complete arrangement.
Preserve the changing evidence
Back up configuration and original customer records, then track new payments and changes made during the transition. Restoring an older snapshot without reviewing later transactions can lose legitimate service or recreate an already processed event.
- Keep one clear controller responsible for the relevant network at a time.
- Record the migration start and the final accepted transaction boundary.
- Compare post-snapshot merchant evidence before resuming ordinary sales.
Do not confuse rollback with old-code reuse
Application database upgrades can change what older releases understand. LinkDesk’s operations guide documents restrictions on running older code against upgraded data. Use the supported restore and release procedure rather than assuming any previous program folder can safely open the current database.
Re-verify after the decision
Whether continuing with the new installation or returning to the old one, test a representative customer and check payment records. Tell staff which system is authoritative so they do not apply a second manual correction in the abandoned environment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I restore an old backup and ignore later payments?
No. Reconcile activity after the snapshot before deciding the correct entitlement and payment state.
Can any old application version open upgraded data?
Do not assume compatibility. Follow the supported release and restore instructions for the data version.
Choose your software licence
One installation, a clear router allowance, and perpetual use of the purchased version. Setup assistance, hosting and external services are separate.
