Scheduling an Internet Package Change at Renewal

WayaDesk / PPPoE and renewals

A customer may want a new package without changing the service already purchased. Scheduled changes help keep those two periods distinct, provided the operator clearly explains when the new price and settings will apply.

Separate selection from purchase

The LinkDesk customer account workflow allows a next-package selection. Choosing a package is not itself a payment. An existing unpaid invoice must be resolved before another next-plan change so that the customer and operator do not have conflicting purchase instructions.

Preserve the paid snapshot

The package attached to an already paid period should remain identifiable even if the catalogue changes later. A future paid package starts at the relevant boundary, while the current period retains its existing settings until then.

  • Show which package is active now and which is scheduled next.
  • Confirm the period funded by the new payment.
  • Test the actual rate and timeout change at the transition.

Use a clear example

A household can select a larger next package while still using its current month. The useful explanation is the exact date the larger package begins. Saying only “upgrade selected” can lead the customer to expect an immediate change that the scheduled workflow does not provide.

Handle adjustments deliberately

If the business wants to offer a mid-period upgrade or credit, confirm whether the supplied workflow supports that commercial arrangement. Do not improvise by overwriting paid records. Keeping the original purchase history protects both the operator’s reconciliation and the customer’s understanding of what was bought.

Frequently asked questions

Does choosing a new plan immediately change my speed?

Not in the documented scheduled workflow. The next paid package begins at its service boundary.

Why resolve an existing unpaid invoice first?

It keeps the next purchase unambiguous and avoids conflicting package instructions for the same account.
