WayaDesk supplies LinkDesk for supported MikroTik billing workflows. If your network has only a home router or an access point from another vendor, do not assume it can enforce LinkDesk packages or receive the same integration commands.
Identify the gateway, not just the WiFi name
The device that broadcasts WiFi may be an access point behind a different gateway. Draw the path from the upstream internet connection to the customer. Find the equipment responsible for authentication, address assignment and access enforcement. A supported MikroTik gateway can be part of a mixed-vendor network, but the topology must be confirmed.
What happens without an enforcement device
A local application screen, customer record or generated voucher does not by itself allow or block network access. The intended gateway and authentication path must enforce the entitlement. A working software purchase proves licence delivery and activation; it does not establish that an unrelated router can use the resulting credentials.
Assess existing equipment before purchase
Tell support the gateway model, RouterOS version if relevant, access-point roles and whether you intend Hotspot or PPPoE. For RADIUS, describe the actual authentication server and supported bridge requirements. There is no general claim that LinkDesk directly manages TP-Link, Tenda, UniFi, Huawei or every RADIUS-capable router.
If you only want to evaluate the software
Use the public guides to understand packages, records and licence terms. The current offer is paid software, not a promised hardware-free production billing service. Arrange a compatible pilot before committing customers. Hardware purchase or network redesign should follow an assessment of your real topology and operational needs.
Questions before buying
Can I use an ordinary access point behind MikroTik?
Possibly, when it carries traffic to the correctly configured supported gateway. That does not mean LinkDesk directly manages that access point.
Do I need MikroTik for buying a software licence?
You can buy a licence without a router, but useful network enforcement still needs a supported deployment.
Software price and delivery
Current one-off licences are KSh 4,900 for 2 managed routers, KSh 9,900 for 5 and KSh 17,900 for 10, on one installation. The amount displayed at M-Pesa checkout applies to your purchase.
