Fibre ISP Billing Software: PPPoE and Subscriber Records

A fibre internet operator needs a reliable record of subscribers, payments and service dates alongside the physical access network. LinkDesk can support a compatible MikroTik PPPoE billing deployment, with a separate FreeRADIUS integration option where appropriate.

Billing is one part of the access network

Fibre construction, OLT provisioning, optical levels, VLAN transport and customer ONT configuration are separate from the billing ledger. Identify the existing PPPoE access concentrator, subscriber address pool and gateway. LinkDesk does not build those services simply because a licence has been activated.

Keep customer identity stable

Record the subscriber, package, serving gateway and equipment reference consistently. Network credentials should persist through renewals instead of being replaced by a new Hotspot voucher every month. Decide how technicians receive the information they need without giving them unrestricted access to all payment and merchant settings.

Define renewals and package changes

A monthly offer can use fixed days or a calendar-month model. Explain the actual service boundary to the subscriber and demonstrate an early renewal. A scheduled future package change should preserve already purchased time. Review the package snapshot and invoice reference rather than assuming the latest public price describes every historical purchase.

Test operations before cutover

Demonstrate initial authentication, payment, expiry and reconnection on the intended access network. Include an account with existing paid time in the migration rehearsal. Keep a rollback plan for the previous service and verify a backup restore. Hardware throughput and subscriber capacity require deployment-specific measurement, not a router-allowance calculation.
